Moving On

Day after day,

we all move on,

like in some tango,

some mad kind of mambo.

Day after day,

we’re all rushing about,

forgetting to take the time –

just to simply play.

Day after day,

we just don’t see the years,

slipping by us

and they take us by surprise,

almost too late,

to stop and say –

Where did the good times go?

But they are still here,

we just have to stop,

stop to live life as we should,

to find the time,

to laugh and rejoice,

to love one another,

to hug our friends –

to make life last longer.

Day after day,

we can stop the time,

just for a while,

with golden memories

and moments that like diamonds shine,

to stop the world for a bit,

to catch our breath,

to be a part of life again.

Day after day,

filling the treasure chest,

in our minds,

embracing life

and putting time,

on our side,

for just a bit longer before –

moving on.
