Walk in the Woods

Just Recently Taken 031

Poem number twenty-six NaPoWriMo

When thoughts stray

and you’re weary,

take a walk with nature –

deep into the woods.

Where the sun plays with the shade,

while glittering rays,

shine through the tall pine trees.

Paths covered with pine needles,

lead you on,

so many interesting surprises,

while forest creature scamper about.

In the forest you can hear.

the symphony the wind plays,

the trees whistle along

and you can do a dance.

A forest world all its own,

with bird trills in the trees

and the gurgling of forest streams.

Take a look at the statues nature displays,

tree stumps in different shapes and sizes,

rocks from many years past –

each of them a story to tell.

Below the many trees,

mushrooms grow,

if you look real close perhaps tiny dwarfs,

are scampering by,

while wood nymphs,

glide over the gurgling stream.

It can all seem like a dream,

away from the world,

into the quiet –

of a forest fantasy.
