Lady Lady Lady

IMGP1253

Poem number twelve NaPoWriMo

Their love was beyond compare

he was her knight in shining armor

she was his queen

they lived and they loved with passion

after their own kind of fashion

when quiet moments came

he would softly sing to her

lady, lady, lady

there is no maybe

I see stars brightly shining in your eyes

the sun sets your auburn hair aflame

you are my one true love

now and forevermore

together under the sun

be it whatever season

for whatever reason

they wandered hand in hand

always having some fun

when golden afternoon shadows

became long

together quietly they’d sit

watching the sun

disappear beyond the horizon

then late in the night

sated from the passion of love

he would hold her tight

and softly whisper to her

lady, lady, lady

there is no maybe

I see stars brightly shining in your eyes

the sun sets your auburn hair aflame

you are my one true love

now and forevermore

the years like rivers

went rolling by

but their love kept them strong

even though silver strands

peppered their hair

still together

to each other they still looked fair

but time has a way of being cruel

and one day she slipped away

where he could no longer reach her

and as he placed a single rose

where she now lay

he knew just what to say

lady, lady, lady

there is no maybe

the stars always shown brightly in your eyes

the sun set your auburn hair aflame

you will always be my one true love

till one day we meet again….
