Keep the Flame Burning

Wintertime 111

Keep the flame burning

let the flickering fire

keep hope alive

keep it burning

deep within your heart

there are dreams still to be realized

and adventures to be sought

flights of fancy

to the clouds above that fly

with silver-white linings

keeping hopes alive

keep the flame burning

don’t let it ever go out

even as the cruel winds blow

look toward to a new tomorrow

leave yesterday behind

as all the tears dries

remember that you can say

love is mine

keep the flame burning

keep on yearning

you can make a new tomorrow

from the dreams of yesteryear

keep those memories shining

ever bright as time goes on

keep the flame burning

on the love that you share

remember that together

the road is ever smoother

let it keep on flickering

sending a message of hope and love

far and wide

never let the wick smolder and burn out

make it an eternal one

always you’ll be smiling

beneath the sun

and rainbows will arch above you

all the days of your life

  1. Shelter those flames from the winds of life. Nurture them, coddle them – and keep them alight.
