Upon an April

Many Aprils have come and gone

but they’ve all been a lot of fun

you and I my friend

loving under the sun

those days of youth

that had us flying with the wind

no worries and no cares

an April with no tears

we lived and we loved

under the blue sky above

enjoying the flowers

that blossomed all around

the sun now so warm

days roaming about

who thought we’d get old

it wasn’t made for us

then the time came

when we had to say

it was great and it was grand

but growing up time is here

now we have weathered the storms

and silver streaks through our hair

show the many paths we’ve taken

through the Aprils of our youth

let’s turn back the pages

hey, we’re still young at heart

we can sing and we can dance

under this April sun like horses prance

another April to be glad

for another spring has come

another year to love and laugh

remember other springs with fondness

so take my hand

and let’s go forward

into this new April

and show them that we still can

we can dance

we can live

we can love

we can sing

we can like children play

that is what in this April we say!
