Taking a Dip into the Sea

The heat of the day

is still upon us

the brilliance of the golden sand

the coolness

of the waves

The sun now low on the horizon

slowly dips into the sea

in an orange mellow glow

that slowly turns to purple twilight

Here we now sit

as the waves quietly

lap against the shore

we watch the stars

turn on the lights above

while the moon

creates a silvery path across the water

There we will wait

weaving our dreams

till the dawn begins to light up the sky

and the sun in a glowing red dress

steps out of the sea
